The Wait Is Over for Point of Distraction the Second Collection

pointofdistraction_two300x450One good distraction deserves another…and another and another.

Delving further into the life and times of Ana Welsh, the second book in the Point of Distraction series brings a new set of challenges.

In Dirty Pool, Ana Welsh meets an unusually attractive man. Despite seeming to reciprocate Ana’s interest, Jordan Christiansen remains aloof and passive. After a few misread signals, it’s up to Ana to find out just what game this sexy mystery man is playing.

The Road Less Taken finds Ana taking advice from a massage therapist, who tells her she needs to step outside her comfort zone. Charming and enigmatic, Nikhil might just fit the prescription, but Ana vows to maintain a friendship only. As the sexual tension builds, will she decide to give in to her desires?

Alone in a Crowd exposes the pitfalls of a bottle of tequila, a little black book and drunk-dialing. With four dates in three days, not to mention a surprise visit from her ex, Miguel, Ana discovers she’s overbooked her weekend. Even with all this attention, Ana can’t help but feel something-or someone-is missing.

Warning: This book contains lots of detailed, hot lovin’, a sassy, sexy heroine, an alternate use for a pool table, and a veritable boy buffet. Love can take a lot of practice to get it right. Buy it now

Point of Distraction the Countdown

ana2Hi all, Ana Welsh here. I’m thrilled to announce that the second book that revolves around moi will be available to buy in three weeks! Point of Distraction the Second Collection goes on sale at Lyrical Press January 19, 2009. My author, Ms. Jacks, can hardly contain herself. That’s why I had to do the blog post this morning. She’s biting her nails and stuffing chocolate in her face. I told her she has nothing to worry about. The book is awesome if I do say so myself.pointofdistraction_two300x450 But you guys be the judge. Here’s an excerpt from the first story–Dirty Pool.

One good distraction deserves another…and another and another.

Excerpt:

Jordan selected a cue and chalked it. “The trick is the follow through.” Demonstrating his break, he slammed the tip of his stick into the cue ball, finishing with a forceful thrust his hips. The cue ball crashed into the other balls, scattering them about the table. Three

dropped into various pockets. One solid, two stripes.

04jordan2“I’ll take stripes,” he said.

I was too busy replaying the thrust of his hips in my mind to care much about the game. Imagining what those hips would feel like between my legs, my eyes leveled on the most attractive feature of the room: the solid mahogany door. After I crossed the room, I slid the door closed, giving us some privacy.

“I wish relationships could be like playing pool,” he said as he studied his next shot.

“Why?”

“Shooting pool is straight forward. Geometry, the laws of physics. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I know exactly what the outcome of a shot will be.”

“But with women, not so much?”

“Prrph.” He pushed a burst of air out of his lips. “Women play a game of dirty pool.”

“Misogynistic are we?” I joked.

“Not at all, but you have to understand, you all are mysterious and complicated on levels most men aren’t capable of.”

“If you say so. I wouldn’t know. I’ve never been a guy.”

“Thank God.”…Jordan took a bit of chalk and wiped it onto the tip of his index finger and tapped a dot of blue onto the cue ball without disturbing its position.

“Okay, assume your shooting position,” he instructed.

“Are you flirting with me?”

“Not yet. C’mon, now, assume the position.”

I leaned over, bending a little at the knee, and looped my index finger around the cue.

“Not bad, get a little lower. Wait—” He pulled me upright, sprinkling a little talc on my hands and dusting them off. “You want the stick to glide through your hands.”

I giggled at the innuendo. “Are you sure you aren’t flirting?” I leaned over again and allowed Jordan to adjust my posture.

“Okay, now tap the cue ball right there where I marked it. We’re aiming for the one ball in the corner pocket.”

“Just tap it?”

“Right. Give it a little kiss.”

“I like the sound of that.”

“Sexy, isn’t it? Okay, kiss it,” he said, his lips a fraction of an inch from my ear.

Sigh, that Jordan Christiansen is something else. Stay tuned. I’ll be back next Monday with another excerpt from Point of Distraction the Second Collection from the story eThe Road Less Taken and its yummy hero, Nikhil Khan.

Hear ye, hear ye–Announcements from Brighid

Well, this week started off with a bang for our Ms. Jacks. She’s found herself with not one, but two brand-spanking new contracts!

The first for Point of Distraction the Final Collection which closes out the saga of Ana Welsh…and yes ladies, there is a happily-ever-after ending.

The second contract is an exciting event indeed. It seems that not only does Cindy have a talent for erotic romance, but she also has a scrumptious darkside. Her newly created alter-ego, CJ Elliott, landed a contract with Wild Child Publishing as part of their stand-alone short line called Frights and Fears. The Wedding Feast by CJ Elliott is a side of Cindy I assure you, you’ve never seen before!

We’ll keep you updated on the development of these exciting titles. Ta-ta for now! ~Brighidlpicomingsoon300x450weddingfeast

At the End of Her Journey

Ana: Knock, knock, Brig.

Brighid: Ana, darling, what brings you here?

A: I just wanted to thank you.

B: You’re welcome, dear, but for what?

A: You and Cindy finished Point of Distraction the Final Collection this weekend. I’m so thrilled with how everything worked out.

B: I’m so glad. Jacks got all weepy that you finally came to the end of your journey.

A: Well, it’s bittersweet for me, too. I love that you-know-who and I got our happily-ever-after, but I’m going to miss you and Cindy.

B: Don’t be silly. You’ll be around for a long time, every time a reader takes the journey with you. And Jacks is toying with the idea of writing a follow-up book: The Men of Distraction – Life After Ana.

A: Oh that sounds like fun. Well, I should get back. You-know-who’s not 100% yet.

B: Sorry about that. Apologize to him that we broke his nose in the last POD story, but we had to. It was a necessary obstacle.

A: Yeah, he’s not pleased about that, though he doesn’t mind how I managed to break it [giggle], but he’s still having some headaches.

B: Here [hands Ana two pastel-pink pills], give him these and he’ll feel right as rain.

A: Will he still remember his name? The last time I took something you gave me…well, let’s put it this way, I woke up at Bacchus’s place and it was a week later.

B: Well, I had to entertain you somehow while I worked out the end to your story. You were getting a little demanding about it.

A: In my defense, you’re the one who made me a demanding person.

B: That is true.

A: Well, I’m off, Brig [hugs her]. Thank you again. You-know-who and I are very happy together.

B: That you two are happy is thanks enough. Give him a hug for me. Ta ta, darling.

[Ana leaves]

B: [Sighs] I am going to miss working with Ana. Now, if Jacks would ever get her butt out of bed this morning, we could move things along for poor neglected Bacchus and start work on Amber’s story, Boundaries.

Cindy: I’ll be up in a minute. The little one has a cold again. I had a rough night.

B: Ohhh, you heard me? [laughs] I’m glad I didn’t say anything derogatory about you.

C: [Snorts] Like that would be anything new…All right, all right, I’m getting up….

An Interview With Ana Welsh

Hello everyone. I’m Gideon, I am the muse of a wonderful authoress–Kensana Darnell.

It’s wonderful to share my first interview with the likes of such beautiful mortals. While my author is off doing whatever it is she does when we are not together, I have been granted a most delicious opportunity.

While at the PM Club last evening, I meet one the most enchanting women in my realm. I invited her to come spend some time with us today. So without further ado, please welcome from the incomparable Ms. Cindy Jacks, the heroine of Point of Distraction: Collection One, Ms. Ana Welsh.

Hi, Gideon. It´s lovely to be here. Playground Mystique is off the hook, by the way.

Ana thank you for joining me today. You’re looking lovely as ever. That scent you’re wearing is driving me mad. I have to ask what are you wearing?

Ah, well, today I’m wearing a scent my authoress had blended just for me. It’s Point of Distraction the fragrance. It’s notes of jasmine, vetiver, and citrus. I love it.

I see that you’ve brought some friends along with you.

I have. I’ll admit I’m a bit nervous having them all in the same room, but since Brighid has finally started to toil away on Point of Distraction the Final Collection, we’re all friends now.

Well I was looking toward spending some time for the two of us but I’ll make an exception, any friend of yours…*sigh* Welcome, Miguel, Jonathan and Darcy.

Miguel: Thanks, man. Those wings are fierce! Ana, que bonita.

Gracias Miguel. [extends and flaps his wings]

Jonathan: It’s a pleasure to be here. Always lovely to see you, Ana.

Darcy: Good evening, y’all. Evening, Ana, darling.

So Ana, tell us a little something about yourself, and uh…you gents may jump in whenever.

Let’s see. A little about me…I’m thirty-something years old, I’m an executive at a large-ish furniture store in Alexandria, VA. I work a gazillion hours a week. My hobbies include…well, [whispers in Gideon’s ear] the gentlemen you have seated in front of you.

Miguel: Always with the secrets.

Believe me, you wouldn’t want to hear what I just shared with Gideon.

Jonathan: Why am I inclined to believe her?

Darcy: Oh I know I believe her. Ana’s secrets are not for the faint of heart.

So Miguel, how did you meet Ana?

Miguel: Ah, I wound up at this swanky place in Northwest DC. And while my crew was running up my Amex bill, I was watching the stunning blonde. I sent a bottle of champagne to her table and she agreed to go out with me the next night.

Interesting, and you Jonathan. What is your relationship with Ana?

Jonathan: (with a mischievous smile) Strictly business.

I beg to differ.

Jonathan: We’re work associates. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Always a gentleman. I suppose I’ll have to tell Gideon myself. [whispers to Gideon]

Ana you are a very naughty girl.

I like to think of myself as easily distracted.

Ok so Darcy, where do you fit into all of this?

Darcy: Well, I suppose I have a habit of rescuing Ana whenever she gets herself into a scrape down in the Sunshine State. We have a hell of a lot of fun together.

So am I to understand Ana, you get into a sexy tryst with all three of them?

Not at the same time (laughs) but yes, that’s about the sum of it.

And here I was thinking God and Goddesses were having all the fun. You’re as fast as that little car I saw you drive up in, not to mention those red pumps you’re wearing. I love a woman in heels, how wonderfully they accentuate the curve of the calf, defines the muscles in the—but I digress. Did you wear them just for this special occasion?

Oh Ifeel so lucky to be sporting these gorgeous shoes. The ladies from Taking Off – The Red Shoe Collection were kind enough to let me borrow them. Lily, is that book out yet?

Lily: [peeks head in] Holy crap! Look at all these gorgeous men.

I know it’s difficult, but focus, hon. Is your book out yet?
