Gideon is home!

gideonGideon: Where is everyone? Boy a man takes a little vacation and you write him off.

Kensana: Gideon!

Gideon: There’s my girl.

Kensana: Where have you been? And don’t tell me Christmas vacation because that has been over for a while now.

Gideon: My dear Kensa you were venturing into a different world than I’m used to traveling. Well I guess that’s not all together true. It’s a world I’d rather not venture. The dark side can be a little—tempting for us God types.

Kensana: In that case I totally understand. I missed you and the ladies have been asking about you.

Gideon: I’ll have to stop by for a visit when my girls are around. I missed you all. However, from what I understand, that head of yours hasn’t been empty since I left. I ran into Samera. She’s umm…different.

Kensana: She’s okay once you get to know her. We’re making good progress on Shades of Grey. Hopefully we’ll finish within the week. I’m glad you’re back though, we have an author’s chat to
attend in a few weeks and Whispers in the Wind is your story. I can’t talk about it without you. We even won an award from Love Romance Café & More, while you were gone.
samera
Gideon: I’m glad the new work is going well for you and Samera. I’d like to meet her when she’s around. An award? That’s wonderful news Kensa.

Kensana: If I catch her in the right mood, she’d probably like to meet you as well. Until then, here’s a picture of her.

Gideon: What a beautiful girl. A little eerie on the eyes though.

Kensana: She’s okay, trust me.

Gideon: If you say she’s all right, then she’s okay in my book. I’m going to head over to the PM Club. Maybe I’ll find Brighid and Heather there.

Kensana: Yeah I do have work to do. We’ll catch up later. Have fun.

Gideon: Later luv.

The Makings of Gideon: Mommy’s Little Helper

The next few years of Gideon’s’ life went on without any further interference from Olympus. Ares and Michael were there when Syria needed them just as they had promised. Gideon had grown into the spitting images of his fathers. From the raven black hair that curled around the back of his little ears to the deep blue eyes covered by long black eyelashes that brushed his cheeks when he blinked. There was nothing immortal about him. That is, until he began his third year of life.

Syria was busy cleaning the house with Gideon’s small helpful hands more o the hindrance than help, but she permitted him to help anyway. The family room was in dire need of a good sweeping so she grabbed the broom and went to work, trying not to wake her father who slept on the bed in the same room. It wasn’t long before she heard the gleeful sound of her son’s voice.

“Look mommy, I help.”

“Yes. Gideon help mom—”She turned to see her baby boy with her father’s bed held high above his head, with his grand-father still in it asleep. “Gideon!” She gasped, quickly covering her mouth. She didn’t want to startle him and make him drop the bed. “Gideon, sweetheart put papa bed on floor. You don’t want to wake him from his nap.”

121208-1634-themakingso1.jpg “Mommy, I help.” A frown covered his chubby face.

“Yes baby I know, but Mommy has already cleaned there.” She hoped the little lie would get him to put the bed down without injuring her father.

“Ok Mommy, I put Papa down.” He lowered the bed back to the floor, rand over and gave Syria a big hug. She looked back at the bed her father still asleep.

Thank the Gods he’s a heavy sleeper.

She called to his fathers and they arrive in the blink of an eye. Michael had come alone but Ares appeared with a very stunningly beautiful woman on his arm. As flawless as she was she had to be a Goddess. Syria didn’t appreciate the intrusion of this stranger or the total lack of regard Ares showed in bringing her. Before she could confront him about, he spoke.

“Forgive me Syria, but we were on our way to Las Vegas when I heard your call. We came as quickly as we could.”

“Yes, please forgive my intrusion, I mean no disrespect. My name is Brighid, I am the Goddess of Healers and Poets, among other things. It is an honor to meet you.” The beauty said.

Syria calmed herself, under the circumstances she had no reason to be upset with Brighid or Ares. She and the God of War had no ties other than the soon they had created together.

“Pleased to meet you Brighid.”

Gideon came running when he saw both of his fathers arrive. He ran to Michael who plucked him up from the ground, swung him up to the heavens, and caught him in a loving hug.

“How are you my angel?”

Gideon was occupied with the beautiful lady with Ares. “Pretty lady, daddy.”

“Yes she is very pretty.” Michael agreed placing the fidgety tot back to the ground.

Gideon walked over to Brighid, tugged on the flowing tresses of her gown. The goddess kneeled down. “You are a cute one aren’t you?”

Gideon’s chubby hand caressed her cheek. “Pretty.”

“And a lot like your father I see.” She laughed.

Ares called to his son. “Come little one.” He scooped Gideon up into his muscular arms. “Have you been giving your mother a trouble?”

“Yes Syria, what has given you caused to call upon us?” Michael asked.

Syria recapped the story for the two men. They both looked back at the innocent youth, trying to figure out a way to explain to a three-year-old toddler the strength he possessed. Most of all they had to make him understand how easily it would be to hurt someone if he wasn’t careful.

They left the two women and took their son aside to begin the first lesson of many to come in how to control his powers.

Congratulations are in order.

Heather/Jambrea Gideon/Kensana Brighid/Cindy

Brighid: Heather, Gideon, darlings, I just read the review. You must be so pleased. And your authoresses too.

Cindy: Yes, big congrats [sniffle]

Brighid: Back to bed, Jacks unless you want me to dose you again with my special buttered rum.

Gideon: Yes, it is a good day for us wouldn’t you agree Heather? If Jambrea is half as happy as Kensa is right now, I know she is a very happy individual at the moment.

Heather:  We are so very excited!  Jacks, you don’t look so good.  Maybe you should go to bed.

Jambrea:  I’m still riding the happy wave!  And Jacks I agree.  You need to get better so we can all go party!

Kensana: Of course I’m happy. It’s our first real review. I mean we’ve had another, but that was the book as a collective. This one was about our individual stories.

Alli: Hey, don’t forget us. Mitch and I just wanted to stop in a say congratulations for creating this story for us. Right Mitch?

Mitch: Yup. It not for Miss Kensana we may have never gotten together. So I’d just like to thank you. Oh and you too Gideon.

Gideon: The both of you are quite welcome, but the credit belongs to Kensa. She created the story I just put a thought in her head.

Kensana: Aw Gideon you’re too modest babe. I couldn’t have done it without you. Jax does need to get better soon. We’ve got to get this party started right!

Cindy: [coughs] No really [coughs again] I’m good to go. Let’s par-tay

Kensana: Oh yeah, you sound like the picture of health. *laughs*

Brighid: To bed, Jacks! I’ll party for two today.

Jack:  I want to thank Jambrea and Heather for helping me realize Sam is the one for me.

Samantha:  Oh yes, I agree.  Thank you for bringing Jack back into my life where he belongs.  And I hope the party doesn’t get too rowdy.  I’d hate to have to call my deputy’s in.

Jambrea:  Sam, you’re off duty and this SO isn’t your jurisdiction.

Heather:  Yes Sam, relax and be happy that the review loved the part of you rolling around with a pig.  *giggle*

Samantha:  You COULD have kept that part out.  *glares at Heather and Jambrea*

Jack:  But you looked so cute covered in mud.  *stifling a chuckle*

Samantha:  Did someone say anything about a drink?

Kensana: Drinks all around Brig! Oh you’d better pull out extra, I invited Ares. He said he try to stop in later.

Alli: Oh wow! The God of War. I’ve heard so much about him.

Mitch: Calm down little missy, I think he has his eye on another little philly and besides you’re already spoken for. *wraps Alli in a big hug*

Kensana: Yeah I think you’re right about that Mitch. *smiles at Brig*

Brighid: Why is everyone looking at me? Is Aphrodite standing behind me?

Heather: You know why silly.  But don’t worry.  We’re here for you.  We could always see if we could get Raven to stop by.  He always causes a stir.  *giggle*

Samantha: Who is Raven, and will we really meet the God of War?  This place is too cool.

Jambrea:  It can get kind of wild Samantha.  The best thing to do is set back and watch the show.  And Brig, we are always here for you.  Now where are those drinks.  I think we might need them.

Waking up from a dream

Heather/Jambrea Gideon/Kensana Brighid/Cindy

Heather:  I have a bone to pick with you Ms. Jones.

Jambrea:  Oh, it’s Ms. Jones now is it?

Heather:  Yes.  You let them DRUG me?  How could you?  *pout*  You know I can take care of myself.  *sigh*

Jambrea:  I know Heather, but it really was because we care.  You don’t know anything about this Raven.  Kensana, Brig and Gideon do.  Let’s go talk to them.  Will that make you feel better?

Heather:  Yes.  Let’s go visit the Playground.

Brighid:  Heather, Brea, darlings how are you? Not still sore about that whole spiked champagne thing, are you?

Gideon:  Hey Jambrea. Heather I hope you’re feeling better.

Heather:  I am.  I’m very sore.  You should have trusted me to take care of myself.  I could handle a silly little vampire.  *pout*

Jambrea:  Now Heather do–

Heather:  Don’t Heather me.  You of all people should know better.

Cindy: Oh Heather, honey, it’s not that we don’t trust.

Kensana: Not at all. It has nothing to do with you. We were just concerned for your safety.

Brighid:  Of course we trust you. Raven’s just that dangerous. You have to admit you Fae’s are prone to thinking the best of everyone…whether they deserve it or not.

Gideon:  Well they do have a tendency to be right of their with angels, but a little more forgiving.

Heather:  That maybe true of most Fae, but I’ve been out in the real world and helped Jambrea.  I know not everyone has my best interest at heart, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.  If something happens to change my trust, I can take care of myself.  There is more to be then meet the eye.  *giggle*  I’ll forgive you, but you guys need to have faith that I can take care of myself.  You’ll see.  *giggle*

Jambrea:  *sigh* Just know that we don’t want to see you hurt or taken advantage of.

Heather:  Sometimes being taken advantage of can be fun.  *giggle*

Brighid:  The girl has a point there. I love pretending to let certain males take advantage of me.

Kensana: Oh Brig, what males would that be? Anyone we know?

Heather:  Ohhh…topic change.  Yes, Brig, who would that be?

Jambrea:  Hmmm…I would like to know too!  Spill it!

Brighid:  Unfortunately I can’t name any human names. Wouldn’t want to topple any political careers *wink*

Cindy: Noooo, we wouldn’t want that.

Kensana: Of course we would.

Gideon:  I am afraid this is where I take my leave. There are places you ladies go that no man…or demigod should venture.

Brighid:  Gideon, love, you don’t have to go. I’m not going to kiss and tell.

Heather:  Well that’s no fun.  *sigh* Kensana, how is Rav…um I mean how are your men?

Kensana: They’re fine. Christian asked about you today.

Heather:  He did?  *big grin*

Cindy: Did Dorian mention me? *sigh*

Kensana: Sorry Jax, I haven’t seen Dorian in a few days. He and Christian aren’t talking. Christian still pissed about him bringing Raven to the club. While I was sick this weekend Christian has been getting in touch with his fire side. That’s where you come in  Heather. He needs to learn to channel his power more and the answer to that lies with you and what you know about the ancient readings.

Heather: Kensi!  I’d be happy to help him.  Any time he’s ready, call for me and I’ll help.  Tell him not to be too hard on Dorian.  All will be understood in time.

Jambrea:  Look at Heather with all the mojo!

Kensana: I know, huh? I pass it on Heather, he’s developing frown lines trying to figure this stuff out.

Heather:  Well we can’t have him lining up his handsome face!  Tell him not to worry.  I’m here for him when he needs it.  I should probably go talk to Holly and Decklin.  We left them having a serious conversation with her brother Matt.  Matt and Decklin have a lot of explaining to do!

Jambrea:  Yes they do.  At least we got Holly out of the cage.

Cindy: I’m sure Holly’s majorly relieved about that!

Jambrea:  You can not even begin to imagine.  Waking up in a cage after you first time having sex would not be pleasant for anyone.

Heather:  I know I’m glad that part is over with.  Nighty nighty.  I’m off to cause mischief.  *giggle*

Jambrea:  Heather, what does that mean.  HEATHER!  *she rushes after Heather*  Night everyone!

Kensana: Nite gals. I think Brea’s has her hands full there.

Cindy: I think you’re right. Nite.

Undeniable Gift: Final

syria“Michael.” A look of terror entered her eyes.

“The child will not leave this plane without the permission of its mother.” The angel replied.

“Do not tend to tell me my business angel.” Ares lashed out. “I do not intend to remove him from this place.”

Discord stepped to her brother’s side. “Ares, surely you are not considering leaving my nephew with this woman?”

“No not considering. I have decided. The child will stay with Syria. When he is of age and in need of his father—whichever that may be—all you need is to call and I will answer.” He place the child within his mother’s arms.

“Ares I will not stand or this.” The Queen snapped. “You have allowed this mortal to corrupt you. He is my grandson and he will run and play amongst the clouds as his father and those before him. Discord, collect the child, I tire of this nonsense. ”

Discord moved towards Syria. “Hand me the child mortal.”

“His name is Gideon and I will do no such thing.”

Ares positioned himself between discord and Syria. As he did, the three angels drew their swords

“Ares, my brother you would stand against your own mother and me for this human?”

“What’s right is right Discord. It has nothing to do with choosing sides.”

Hera laughed. “What, do you believe he belongs in heaven? Over my dead body.”

Gabriel raised his sword. “My dear Queen I will be most obliged to acquiesce your request.”

Hera gasped at the audacity of Gabriel’s forwardness.

Syria feared this altercation could quickly get out of hand. Deities’ battling on earth, no matter the reason, was not a good thing. She wondered if handing Gideon over to the gods would be best. She glanced up looking at the chaos before her. She clutched her son close to her bosom as tears flowed down her face.

The calamity brought to a sudden halt by a loud crash of lightning streaking across the sky, the clouds turned grey and thunder rolled across them. In the flash of a single bolt of light the God of thunder appeared.

He walked over to where Syria laid his face regal and commanding. Long silvery-white hair covered his head and extended down to his shoulders collecting into a lush flowing beard of snow. Syria was in awe of his great size. Ares was a large shape of a man by any account but he clearly stood in the shadow of his mighty father.

“Father. Ares dropped to a knee and discord quickly followed his lead.

Zeus said not a word; he showed no concern for the three Archangels who stood with weapons drawn. His attention was directed to the small bundle the mortal woman held in her arms.

“May I see the child little one.”

Syria unwrapped the blanket Gideon opened his eyes and the king of Gods was amazed at the alertness the baby displayed. A small hand reached from the blanket and clutched a finger of the enormous hand of the god.

“Ares the matter in whish this child—what is the child’s name?”

“Gideon.” Syria said her voice barely a whisper.

“Gideon. The name of a powerful warrior. A hero. He stroked his long beard. I like it. How the child came to be is now irrelevant. What is clear is he will need guidance. This is no ordinary child. He will hold great power; he will be a champion among champions. He turned to face here. The child will remain on earth as his fathers and his mother have agreed.”

“Zeus—.”

“Silence!” His voice shook the trees thought the orchard. “As Ares as said, when it is time–and his mother will know when that shall be—she will call upon us if she so deems necessary. No one will”—he shot a hard glare at Hera and Discord—”will interfere in the life of this child or his mother. Is this agreeable to you Michael?”

The archangels sheathed their swords and Michael stepped forward. “It is most agreeable and honorable king Zeus. We are all at the ready awaiting to be beckoned by the child or his mother. Our duty will be protection. No harm shall befall either.”

“Then we are finished here.” He looked once more at Gideon. “I expect great things from you my boy. He stepped away and in a flash of lightning, he was gone.

“Oh I can’t believe this.” Discord shouted.

Discord. Her named rumbled through the clouds.

She gazed up to the skies. “Yes father.” In a whirlwind of black smoke, she too took flight and disappeared.”

“Know this mortal, I do not agree with my husband’s decree, but got my grandson’s sake I will abide.” With a wave of her hand Hera escaped backed to the mountain of God and Goddesses.

Areas kneeled beside Syria. The God of War humbled by a pair of baby blues to match that of his own. “Syria I am sorry.”

“Do not apologize, Ares. As your father said, it does not matter how he came to be, all that matters is that he is here. You and Michael have given me the most wonderful gift I could ever receive.” She looked down at the little bundle. “My Son.”

Meeting new friends (cont.)

Heather/Jambrea Gideon/Kensana Brighid/Cindy

Jambrea:  What’s up Kensi?

Kensana: You’ve got to keep Heather as far away from Raven as possible. He’s hot and all but he doesn’t huh…play well with others.

Jambrea:  He’d hurt her?  We’d better get back in there before Heather invites him over.  Oh Heather, can I– What are you doing?!

Heather:  I’m just talking to Raven.  Isn’t he dreamy.  We were just going to leave.

Jambrea:  Umm…Heather that MIGHT not be a good idea.  Maybe you should talk to Kensi first.  She does know him just a little bit more than you do.

Kensana: Listen Heather, I know he’s cute but he’s dangerous. Trust me on this.

Gideon: What’s going on Kensa, is everything alright?

Kensana: Not exactly Gideon. I’m afraid Heather has the hots for Raven.

Brighid: Oh Heather, darling, Ares was just telling me about Raven. I think you should listen to Kensi.

Gideon: The hots…oh. Would you like me to talk to her.

Kensana:  Would you please.

Heather:  I don’t understand.  He doesn’t look dangerous.  *giggle*  *smiles at Raven and gives him a little wave*

Jambrea:  Heather, please listen to them.  They know what they are talking about.

Heather:  *pout*  I just want to have a little fun and he looks fun!

Cindy: I don’t know, Heather. If Brighid is balking about the prospect, I’d be afraid…very afraid.

Kensana: He is a lot of fun right up to the moment when he rips your throat out.

Gideon: Kensa, I thought I was doing the talking. Heather he’s not safe it would be best if you stuck with the rest of us or I’ll make a deal with you. If you want to go out with him just don’t go alone.

Heather:  *whispers to Gideon* Do you think Ares would go with us? Those other yummy guys look taken and I don’t see how that could be fun.  Are you sure he would hurt me?  He might like me.  I could bite back too?  *giggle*

Jambrea:  Heather, what about the new guy we’ve been talking too?  Holly needs a little help.  We can’t just leave her so you can go play.

Heather:  *pout*  You really aren’t any fun.  Work, work work.  I’ll just wait until you go to sleep.  Don’t let me have fun and I might stop talking to you.

Jambrea:  Heather!  I’m just thinking of your safety here.

Heather:  *sigh* I know, but I need to have fun.  Brig!  Let’s go have some fun.

Brighid: [hands Heather a purple glass of champagne] Oh I suppose I can be persuaded to play chaperone. But first, bottom’s up, dear!

Cindy: Brig, I really don’t think–

[Heather wilts to the floor after downing her glass]

Cindy: What did you give her, Brighid?

Brighid: It’s just a mild sedative mixed with the gift of true sight. Ares told me to do what I needed to do to protect her from Raven. He’s THAT dangerous. Brea, I’m sorry, love. I know you have work to do tonight, but really, it’s for her own good. When she wakes up she should see Raven for what he is…a murderous retch.

Kensana: Man she’s out cold. That’s good stuff Brig. Now the other four  they’re good guys. No worries.

Jambrea:  That’s ok Brig.  I know she’ll thank us for it in the morning.  I needed a break anyway.  Thanks Ares.  So Kensi, what is up with this Raven character?  Why are you hanging around him if he is so dangerous?  Just who is he?

Kensana: [whispers] Raven is a long time friend of Dorian and Christian’s, but he’s changed. I can’t say more than that.

Cindy: Is Dorian spoken for?

Brighid: Jacks! I’m shocked. He may or may not be, but you certainly are.

Cindy: I was talking to Kensi.

Dorian: Darling my situation is umm…complicated.

Jambrea:  Well Dorian, we do like complicated.  Maybe you should sit down and chat for awhile. That is if Kensi is done with you for the evening.  Maybe it is time for us authors to party.  Brig, do have any sedative free champagne?

Cindy: [lashes fluttering] You’ll find I’m an excellent listener. I’m all ears, Dori. May I call you that?

Brighid: You’re all SOME body part right now, Jacks, but I think it’s a little farther SOUTH than your ears.

Cindy: Shhhhhh. Dori’s going to tell us more about himself.

Dorian: Well there’s not much to tell. I met Christian when he was traveling through Texas at a conference. We’re been buds every since. That was…what sixty years ago Christian?

Christian: Yeah something like that.

Dorian: He got this gig at a hospital and asked me to come along. Everything was good to go until I met Christa.

Jambrea:  Ohhh…a Doctor.  This just keeps getting better and better.  You are a doctor, right?  Cindy, you’ll have to tell me all about it, I should probably get Heather home.

Cindy: Will do. Night night, Brea. So Dorian, please, tell us about Christa.

Dorian: As I said, our relationship is complicated. Crista and I have know each for as long as I’ve known Christian. Unfortunately that’s part of the problem, she knows me too well.  [whispers] The other problem is Christian. I’ve been uh…warned not to go near his sister and Christa will not do anything that will upset her brother.  So, what’s a guy to do?

Cindy: You poor thing! Well, if you ever need anyone to talk to…

Brighid: Jacks!

Cindy: What? I said talk. TALK.

Brighid: It’s not what you meant.

Cindy: Is so!

Brighid: [Shooing Cindy along] Well, it’s been lovely meeting all of you. I’ve got to get this home too. Brady’s waiting and he’s all torn up about that kiss with Layla. And you haven’t written your 1000 words today.

Cindy: Oh fine. Good night, all. Good night, Dori.

Dorian: On the next dark evening I’m all alone, I’ll keep that in mind darling. It’s been nice talking to you ladies. You take care now.

Meeting new friends

Heather/Jambrea Gideon/Kensana Brighid/Cindy

Gideon: Okay guys today I have a special treat for you.

Dorian: And what might that be Gideon?

Christian: Im a little curious myself, whats up?

Quinn:  Well speaking for myself, I’m looking forward to some down time.

Sergei: Whatever it is, I surely do hope it is more entertaining than the droll little females we encountered last evening.

Raven: Hopefully their not human.

Ares: My God man you are a depressing entity. Go on son.

Gideon:[flies through the PM Club doorway] Ladies? I have a few people for you to meet.

Brighid: [turns around, then smiles] Gideon, love! How have you been? I feel like you’ve been gone for ages! [hugs him]

Gideon: Well a guy has to take some time out every now and again. I love you ladies, but sometimes there is way too much estrogen around here for me. [smiles]

Brighid: But I suppose I’ll have to forgive you…my my my what have you brought us here? Five more gorgeous males, each one a dark angel in his own right. [Bows her head, flushed] Ares, so lovely to see you again…after all this time.

Ares: Hmm Brighid, it has been a long time. We must get together and catch up on old times. Cindy it wonderful to finally meet you.

Cindy: Yes, it’s nice to meet you–wait–Brig, I thought you’d never met Ares before. That’s why you were mad–

Brighid: We’ll talk about it later, Jacks.

Heather:  But Brig, I want to know.  Just how well do you know Ares.  *giggle*   He is Divine.  And Gideon, how nice of you to bring these other men with you.  Please introduce us.

Jambrea:  *shakes head* Sorry, I was having a hard time not drooling.  My goodness.  Or my God.  Yum!  Wait…did I say that out loud.  *blushes*

Heather:  Yes you did.  *giggle*

Cindy: Hear, hear Brea! So, Brig, cough up the info about you and Ares. Or am I going to have to pry to story out of Ares himself?

Brighid: Not today, Jacks. Ares and I have some catching up to do first. Besides, I’m sure our readers would rather hear about Dorian, Christian, Raven, Quinn and Sergei.

Cindy: Don’t get me wrong. I want to hear all about our guests too. You’re all just too gorgeous.

Brighid: There’s no such thing as too gorgeous.

Jambrea:  I would have to agree with Brig there.

Heather:  Don’t wear out…umm…catch up too hard.  I want to hear more about Ares.  *sigh* *giggle*

Jambrea:  Calm down Heather.  *laughing* Please, introduce us to your gorgeous friends.  I want to know more.

Christian: I can’t stay long, I promised Kela I’d get back. We’re hanging out here while Kensana works on our story. I can’t tell you the title yet, she’s keeping that under wraps.

Dorian: Oh is that a whip I hear? Let that gal wait.

Quinn: I don’t think you’re one to talk Dorian. Was that Christa on your cell?

Raven: Who care what those women are doing when there are four women here who appear to be very capable. [grins]

Sergei: Ah vampires in their youth…what am I going to do with these fellow. I think I speak for them all when I say it is a pleasure to meet you beautiful ladies.

Gideon: Ladies may I present to you the gentleman of Kensa’s new story, Christian, Dorian, Quinn, Raven and last but surely not least Sergei. Feel free to ask them anything. They’re an open book. So to speak. [he laughs]

Heather:  Can I take Raven home.  Please, please.  *whispers to Jambrea* Do you think he’d bite me.  I bet it would be yummy.  *giggle*

Jambrea:  HEATHER!

Kensana: [rushes in out of breath] Whoa Heather! Brea can I talk to you for a moment?  [takes Brea aside]

Undeniable Gift: Pt III

syria             “Please.” She begged.

“Silence child. We mean you no harm. We are here to assure my grandson’s safe arrival into this—“She exhaled, an air of distaste on wind. “Mortal world of yours.”

“As are we.” A voice behind them, professed.

The deities spun around. They expected to see an Archangel, but they did not expect to see three.  His wings spread full and wide, Michael stood firm, with Raphael—the Archangel of healing, and to his left and Gabriel–the Archangel of strength and power of God.

A fireball formed in Ares’ palm, behind her brother, Discord drew lightning at her fingertips. Hera stepped forward and raised her hand. “Ares, Discord.” Obeying their mother’s command, the two absorbed their elemental weapons. “So this is the archangel that has plagued our house?” She said boldly.

As if she had said nothing, Michael focused his attention on Syria. “Raphael.”

Without so much as one word, the angel moved around her to tend to Syria. “I am Raphael, are you all right my sweet?”

Breathing became short and sporadic, as the pain took hold of her. She seized on to the angel’s hand in desperation. “The baby—is—coming.”

“Syria, look into my eyes,” he said.

Her eyes locked with his, a flow of warmth traveled over her body. Slowly, the pain subsided. The breath she once gasps for returned to her.

“Allow him to come forth.” She heard Michael’s voice in her ear.

Under the watchful eyes of three archangels, and three Olympians, the demigod angel known as Gideon, entered the mortal world.

The most important birth to both Heaven and Olympus had finally occurred. Raphael wrapped the child inside a blanket and placed him inside his mother’s arms. She opened the blanket. A pair of brilliant blue-green eyes, hooded by long thick eyelashes stared back at her. Hair as black and silky as a raven’s wings covered his head.

Ares moved towards her and the baby, Gabriel moved in closer. “I am merely attempting to see my son,” Ares responded. Michael passed a nod of approval to Gabriel and he stepped aside. Ares kneeled down next to Syria. He reached for Gideon, but she withdrew. Michael placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.

             “It’s all right.”

She placed the child in Ares’ arms. He stood and held the child against him. Hera and Discord stepped up beside him. He passed the child to Hera.

“He’s perfect Ares. Even with what the poor child has as genetic makeup.” She cast a disapproving glance at Michael. “Well…he is my grandson.”

“Yes, thank the goddess for your part in this dear brother.” Discord laughed. “Father absolutely must see him. Oh Ares, he is the perfect addition to our family, an Olympian prince.”

Gideon sits down with author Sage Whistler

Gideon:  Hanging out at the PM Club I meet the most interesting people. I’ve invited a few new friends over to the Playground today. Please give a warm welcome to the beautiful Ms. Sage Whistler and her hero from her new book “G-Strain,” Kenano.

Sage thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to join me. It’s great to have you both here today. Why don’t you tell our reader’s a little about yourself?

Sage: Well, I’m twenty-two years old. I was born in the south but grew up in Connecticut. I’m a multi-published author of gay fiction/erotica currently published with Cacoethes Publishing House, but I plan to spread my wings. I’ve been telling stories since I could talk, writing stories since I learned the basics, and writing professionally for a year.

Nothing wrong with spreading your wings, I find you need to do that sometimes. *smiles and extends his wings over Sage’s shoulders* So, your new book is called G-Strain, starring this handsome gentleman beside you, correct?

S: Ah, yes. This is Kenano: tall, handsome, skin the color of coffee with moderate cream. Dreads! Hehe What is there not to like, right? He was supposed to be sharing a story with his friend Jared. A unique concept for writing I am sure, because most authors have one main protagonist, not two. But I love both him and Jared equally. I couldn’t decide who got center stage first, though I think Kenano kind of stole the show.

That happens sometimes. One time I was with this one goddess and another came along and…but I digress. *grins* Kenano you make your first appearance in G-Strain, tell us a little bit about where you fit into this intergalactic tale? I’ve heard some juicy secrets, but I’m sure our readers would like to hear it from your lips.

Kenano:  Well, first I just like to say it’s an honor to be here. And thank you for having me. It’s true, my first appearance was in G-Strain. At first I was a little worried that Sage wasn’t going to tell my story, so I had to bug her. You’re familiar with Patrick Swayze’s role in the movie Ghost, right? I was something of an apparition that haunted Sage day in and day out until she sat down and listened to my story. She brought her laptop and started typing, and before long I was running around on Earth trying to avoid my destiny, when in reality it was already flowing through my veins. I don’t want to give too much away, but I think it’s safe to say I got caught and carted off to Lykur. The adventure really starts the moment I set foot on the Lykurgan space ship.

How did you meet the aliens? Were you alone?

K: At first I was alone, but I met up with another man who had the G-Strain. I lucked out. I now know that it is extremely rare to have the gene. Anyway, when everyone else on Earth was frozen stiff, Jared and I were running around until we got caught. The Lykurgans came down on foot to capture us. Might I add, it was the best thing that ever happened to me, although you couldn’t have convinced me of that at the time.

Kidnapped, huh? Well that must have been a very frightening ordeal. Jared would you like to add a little something to this?

Jared: Oh, yes, please! Kenano is being modest. He was the glue that held my poor tortured psyche together. I am always grateful that I met him on the day the Lykurgans came for us. Without him I don’t know what I would have done. By the way, I’m the second part to this two man duo. You’ll be seeing more of me in the sequel.

Sequel? I like the sound of that. Tell me, how did you feel once you learned what was expected of you from the aliens?

K:  At first I was scared, though I was hesitant to admit it at first. Readers will see what I mean if they pick up the book. Then the fear morphed into anger. It’s not every day a man is told he cannot go home and is stranded with a bunch of cerulean-blue giants. After I learned more about whom and what I was, the anger slowly melted into understanding. As I said before: I wouldn’t change a thing I’ve gone through. It’s made me a better man.

J:  I for one was scared as HELL! I was sweating and everything. And I mean I’m gay and Kenano is not so I know that he must have been sweating major bullets. *shrugs his shoulders in the face of Kenano’s glare* What? I wasn’t the one who had to deal with overbearing Nurak! Though I wouldn’t have minded. Lol *blinks innocently at Kenano* I kid, I kid.

*throws his head back laughing* Jared, you’re a piece of work. So without giving too much away, Kenano can you share a little about what happens once you meet Nurak?

K: *blushes* Readers will just have to read the book if they want to find out about the ukaii. Like you said I don’t want to spoil the surprise. But I will say that I can’t even sit in this chair properly. My back isn’t as terribly sensitive as it used to be because I’ve gotten so used to the ukaii, but I still hesitate to put a lot of pressure on my back. *pause* Shut up, Jared. Don’t even say it.

J: What? *laughs*

K: Other than having the ukaii put on me to aid our communication, we underwent a hell of a battle just to get to Lykur. Ever heard of the Moraghs? Two words: Sharp claws. I’m just glad that Nurak and his kind heal easily.

Is that the big lug hiding out there in the shadows?

K: Yeah, I had to pry him off the ship with a crowbar. *laughs* Nurak!

J: Yeah, right. Nurak would have followed you into Hades. All you have to do is…oh, here he comes.

Well let’s make some room for him. You are a large drink of water aren’t you?

Nurak: *Settles down beside Kenano and drapes an arm around his shoulders* Hello, Gideon. It still takes some getting used to when I travel to Earth. You humans are all so small. Even my mate, who is over six feet tall, is considered small on Lykur.

J: Hey, we’re not small. You guys are just HUGE! *jerks thumb at Nurak* He’s eight foot one.

Being that I’m not exactly human I guess I can understand that, but you only have me by a foot and two inches. *laughs* Nurak, was it difficult to have a human as a mate?

J: *stiffens* Hey, you’re not part Moragh are you?

No worries Jared. *smiles* It’s a little genetic thing. I’m what you get when you mix the blood of a human, archangel and a god.

J: *sigh of relief* My bad. You just wouldn’t believe the time we had with those guys. They have these big a–. What Kenano? Okay, I’m zipping it. *pouts, but it quickly morphs into a smile*

N: Yes, I would say so. We Lykurgans are familiar with several difference species from all across the galaxy, but we’d never encountered a species like the ones we met on Earth. Kenano at first rejected the idea of mate-bonding with me, but giving up was not an option. Our relationship was complicated by his view on two males of the same species being able to mate. I believe here on Earth the term is homosexuality. On Lykur we are not bound by such narrow thinking. Mate-bonding is instinctual and the gender is irrelevant. It was clear to me almost immediately that he was to be mine. Kenano has also taught me several human concepts. Love and courtship were terms that did not exist for me before I met my mate.

Love is a very strong human emotion. It takes a little getting used to, but it seems you’re doing just fine. Sage, it seems Jared has let the proverbial cat out of the bag, we’ll see more of these gentlemen in the future right?

S: Ah, yes, I have a sequel in the works. I haven’t titled it yet and I don’t have an exact release date or even an estimate. But rest assured that it is coming. The sequel will tell Dawa and Jared’s story. Dawa is even more stubborn than Kenano, if you can believe it. Right now he’s off on his ship doing whatever commanders do in the depth of space. I will explore, ahem, just what the heck he’s doing with all that time on his hands between ports.

I’ve received several emails from readers who enjoyed the book and I’d like to take a moment to thank them. Words of encouragement always spur the author on to write a little faster.

Sage what can I say? I’ve read the book; I had to pry it from Kensa’s hands of course. It’s an action packed, intergalactic love story with a delicious twist. Thank you all again for coming and we’ll definitely have to do this again when the sequel comes out. Good luck to you all.

S: I want to say thank you, Gideon, for the interview. I also want to thank Kensana, Jambrea, and Cindy for letting me drop by the blog. You guys rock. Especially Gideon. *wink*

About the Author: Sage Whistler was born in North Carolina but spent the better part of her life in Connecticut. She was born the second of two children in the freezing cold one dreary January morning. Sage still thinks that being the first month of the year someone could have picked a birthstone color much lovelier than garnet.
Sage readily admits to being a bit quirky, prone to doing things like blurting out random lines from one of her favorite movies.
